Tales of Awesomeness #5:

The Goblin King!

Our Heroes of the Day from L to R: Ratbulgogi (Dwarf Fighter); Dave's Dragonborn Paladin (I still can't pronounce his name hahaha!); Patches (Half-Orc Barbarian); Raging Velasquez (Half-Elf Bard); Ray Dar (Half-Elf Wizard); and Strygwyr (Dragonborn Druid)

A few days after their recent dungeon adventure, the Team Hortons received information that the Goblin Wizard they’ve been looking out for will go to a nearby ruins. Being the team closest to the area, they had to intercept!

(Flashback: Many adventures ago, the Hortons killed an unusually strong goblin. Later reports from their elven friends to the East revealed that the Hortons killed a goblin chief in the area. Upon his death, his crafty goblin rival seized the opportunity and united the two goblin tribes in the Iledan Forest and crowned himself Goblin King!)

Upon reaching the designated location, the Hortons found that the Goblin King and his retinue was already there. The Hortons fought a smaller group of goblin scouts and after a bit of convincing from the new guy Ratbulgogi, the scouts revealed that the Goblin King is looking for something inside the ruin complex.

Using the cover of darkness, our heroes disposed of the roaming groups of goblins and ogres until they finally caught up with their target.

Die roaming Ogre!!!

To everyone’s surprise, the Goblin King was waiting for them. The Hortons fought valiantly and disposed of the goblin’s bodyguards but the goblin unleashed a powerful magic which sucked the Team Hortons inside a giant glowing white orb of energy until they knew nothing more.

The Team Hortons fighting off a few worgs and a pair of ogres.

Upon waking up, the Hortons find themselves inside a cave. Upon looking out, they find that their location is overlooking a dense jungle. For some reason, they could hear the distant sound of ocean waves and above them, they find groups of pterodactyls gliding through the air.

It is here that they realize two things. First, it should take them at least a few weeks ride to reach the sea from Iledan; and Second: There are no pterodactyls in the Kingdom of Karameikos.
