Tales of Awesomeness #2

Eran the Relentless!

Time Lapse!

The Team Hortons finished a series of small quests to scout the Iledan Forest and clear it of monsters so the local townsfolk could continue with their logging operations. On one such quest, the Hortons stumbled upon a ruined outpost building and defeated the cleric who was then staying there. Claiming the outpost as their own, our heroes gave it the name “Camp Big Falcon”.

Upon searching the items left behind by the cleric, Ray Dar, the group’s wizard, took the cleric’s holy symbol of Vecna as a trophy and found an old map of the Iledan Forest with a few areas marked with an “X”. One such mark also had a scribbled date next to it. Realizing that the date is close at hand, our heroic heroes decided to investigate!

End of Time Lapse!

Our heroes of the day from L to R: The dude in the armor is supposed to be a Dragonborn Paladin (sorry I forgot his name hahaha!), Ray Dar (half-elf wizard), Raging Velasquez (half-elf Bard), Patches (Half-Orc Barbarian) and El Chappo (half-orc Barbarian)

After a few days of travel, the Hortons arrived at their supposed destination. It is now approaching midnight, and they notice the soft shimmer of torchlight ahead through the trees and shrubs. Ray Dar, the resident wizard, felt confident in his ninja stealth skills and decided to investigate on his own.

Confident in their awesomeness, our heroes begin to investigate!

Here he saw a group of 4 hooded humanoids. Three of them were standing, holding torches and chanting to a nearby rock which was now pulsing with white light, while the other one was sitting on the ground cross-legged, facing the direction of our heroes.

Unfortunately for Ray Dar, he was spotted. Instinctively, he ran towards his companions, glimpsing behind him enough to see one of the strangers wave his hands and fingers into the intricate pattern necessary to create a FIREBALL!

The fireball hit the Hortons hard. El Chappo and the Dragonborn got KO’d. Velasquez and the others tried to retaliate, but their spells failed to produce any effects as they now realize that they were fighting high level wizards!

Patches charged the enemy group but was intercepted by the other figure who was sitting on the ground, he was now parrying the half-orc using a shimmering greatsword.

Valiantly, the Hortons fought, but one by one, they fell until only Ray Dar was left conscious, sitting on the ground, holding on his terrible wounds. The man with the sword approached him for the killing blow, but stopped when he saw the glimmer of the holy symbol Ray Dar took from the fallen cleric they fought before.

The man leaned closer to the bloodied wizard and said:

“I know you can heal your comrades. I will let you all live to remind you that you are weak. As a courtesy, I will give you my name. I am called Eran. If you will seek revenge, race me in finding the Hutaakan tapastries.”

Eran: Say my name, bitches.

Eran spoke a few words to his companions, and they left the area like the bosses they are.

This is the end of our interlude quest. I have a long backlog in adventure reports. I’ll post them as soon as I finish. J
